Southern city witnesses dramatic rise in foreign travelers

The number of international tourists has risen markedly from early September, reported representatives of many big hotels in Ho Chi Minh City recently. 

Nguyen Anh Tuan, New World hotel’s manager of foreign affairs, said most of these travelers were businesspeople and investors coming to Vietnam to study the market, investment opportunities or taking part in conferences.

Many first-class hotels including the Sai Gon Sheraton, New World and Rex Hotel were virtually filled to capacity, especially on weekends.

Within the next several months, the number of travelers to Vietnam is forecast to continue to rise with events on the sidelines of the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit and the main meetings in November, said Tuan.
