The temple was build in 1049 by Emperor Lý Thái Tông, as a tribute to the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.

It is one of the most iconic temple in Vietnam, due to its unique shape.

You can visit if you go to the Presidential Palace, it is a few minutes walk from there.
